Shawna Erback

Shawna Erback è un artista canadese e vanta collezionisti fedeli di tutto il mondo. Le sue collezioni d’ arte si trovano nelle gallerie, negozi di souvenir e sui muri di tantissimi clienti famosi.

Ha cominciato a dipingere quando era una bambina, ma il suo cammino per diventare un’ artista professionista inizia nel Natale del 2003, un mese dopo la morte di suo padre; molte delle sue opere infatti sono dedicate a lui. Oggi è anche collaboratrice con la DreamWorks Animation.

Nei suoi dipinti offre uno stile unico di paesaggi onirici, fondendo insieme surrealismo e fantasia con toni gotici o stravaganti, a seconda del suo stato d’animo. A ogni colpo di pennello, tesse insieme una storia. L’immaginazione prende il sopravvento e i suoi disegni prendono vita nel suo magico mondo fatto di sogni.

I suoi personaggi talvolta prendono ispirazione dalle fiabe…(adoro la sua interpretazione e la rielaborazione delle varie storie). Altri, invece, sono frutto della sua fantasia…ma è sempre presente una costante: la bambina girata di spalle, come volesse isolarsi nel suo mondo, nel suo stato d’animo, a volte triste e malinconico, altre carico di speranze, altre ancora bisognoso di dare amore e di riceverlo.

Ritroviamo spesso tra i suoi i amici più importanti “cuore fedele”, il leone e la giraffa. Il cuore: il motore dei sentimenti, che si spezza ma che si riaggiusta… Il leone: le guarda le spalle, ma è anche simbolo di coraggio, perchè l’amore è solo per i coraggiosi… La giraffa: ha il cuore lontano dai pensieri,ma allo stesso tempo, grazie al suo lungo collo, riesce a vedere oltre l’orizzonte…perchè c’è sempre speranza.

E’ straordinario come Shawna riesca ad esprimere i suoi sentimenti attraverso il disegno: mi ha colpito particolarmente la bambina che osserva la luna e le stelle e manda cuori al cielo come volesse farli arrivare al suo angelo… ❤

Shawna Erback is a Canadian artist with loyal collectors from around the world. Her art is featured in galleries, gift shops and on the walls of celebrity clients.

She started painting when she was a child, but started her journey to becoming a professional artist the Christmas of 2003, a month after the death of her father; In fact, many of her works are dedicated to him. Today is also a collaborator with DreamWorks Animation.

She offers a unique style of dreamscapes, blending together surrealism and fantasy with gothic or whimsical tones, depending on where her mood takes her. With each stroke of her brush, she weaves together a story. Imagination takes over and her drawings come to life in the mystical world of dreams.

Her characters sometimes take inspiration from the fairy tales … (I love her interpretation and reworking of various stories). Others, however, are fantasy’s characters … but there is always one constant: the little girl that showing her shoulders, as if to isolate herself in her world, in her state of mind, sometimes sad and melancholic, more full of hope, other still in need of love to give and to receive.

Often we find among her friends the most important “faithful heart”, the lion and giraffe. The heart: the engine of the feelings, which is broken but that readjusts … The lion looks at her back, but it is also a symbol of courage, because love is only for the brave … The giraffe: has the heart away from thoughts, but at the same time, thanks to its long neck, unable to see beyond the horizon … because there is always hope.

It ‘amazing how Shawna can express her feelings through drawing: I was particularly touched by the girl who looks at the moon and stars and sends hearts to the sky as if to let them get to her angel … ❤
